Itinerary
Day 1: Glengarriff Woods and Barley Lake
The Glengarriff Forest nature reserve is a mature oak woodland surrounded by the mountains of the Beara Peninsula. The many walking trails in this rugged glen pass rivers, lakes, waterfalls, scenic views, and abundant flora and fauna.
Walk distance: Approximately 10km
Walk difficulty: easy to moderate
Day 2: Barley Cove and Three Castle Head Coast Walk
The Mizen Head Peninsula boasts some of the most scenic coasts in Ireland. See the beautiful sandy beaches, sea cliffs and ancient ruins of this picturesque landscape.
Walk distance: Approximately 8km.
Walk difficulty: moderate
Day 3: Sugarloaf Mountain
The rugged Caha Mountains form the backbone of the Beara Peninsula. Spectacular views towards both Bantry Bay and Kenmare Bay can be seen from the tops of these majestic mountains.
Walk distance: Approximately 7km.
Walk difficulty: moderate to difficult
